Welcome to ATPA Africa
Since 1991, the African Tourism Professionals Association (ATPA) has been the unifying body for Africa's tourism industry — bringing tour companies, hotels, tour guides, and conservation organizations together under one shared mission: growing tourism across the continent responsibly and sustainably.
Africa's tourism sector, for all its richness, has long been fragmented — operators, guides, and lodges working in isolation rather than as a connected industry.
ATPA changes that. We register and represent qualified tourism professionals across borders, giving travelers a trusted way to identify verified partners, and giving our members a platform to be seen and supported. Our work spans advocacy, standards, and community — pushing for policies that protect the industry and the heritage it depends on, setting benchmarks so an ATPA badge means real accountability, and connecting members across the continent.
From destination marketing and trade facilitation to advocacy, capacity building and industry partnerships, ATPA Africa serves as a united voice for a stronger, more competitive African tourism sector.

Uganda is home to nearly half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas, found in the misty forests of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and the volcanic slopes of Mgahinga. It's one of only three countries on earth where travellers can trek to see these gentle giants in the wild.
Uganda is the most visited Africa's desrination for gorilla trekking experiences in Year 2025. Most Visitors come from Europe, and land through Kigali aiport in Rwanda and Entebbe Airport in Uganda
